Second gathering week-end for the Erasmus students
From Friday 27th of October to Sunday 29th of October 2017, all the participants of the Erasmus VET mobility project joined in Dublin for a gathering week-end. Abigails hostel was the place where they slept in female 5-bed dorm and male 6-bed dorm !
Unfortunately the weather played tricks with us all so we had
a very bad day tour on Saturday: we saw nothing of the famous Cliffs of Moher only fog and mist… So we strived to see the sea below, we could sight blurred shapes of the cliffs. It surely was a strange scenery, that could make us sen
se what could be the impact of climate warming for instance! But still it was very disappointing. Yet we perceived some of the Burren stones « one of the finest examples of a glacio-karst landscape in the world »!
Fortunately Dublin is full of pubs and specially the popular Temple Bar area! As a small consolation, we ate nice pizzas for dinner and then went to listen live music in one of those pubs! All the students appreciated the joyful atmosphere, people humming and singing the refrain of the lyrics of the songs they know and musicians encourage everyone to join in for a sing-along !
The next day, Sunday 29th of October, was sunny and we could walk to the EPIC: the Irish Emigration museum, just opened in June 2016, easy to find on Custom House Quay! Very modern, cleverly designed with interactive animations!
